Daily Journal Continued November8,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Sundaymorning CBS Television9am Showing The Viet Nam Art Museum in Chicago by 96 artist who served in that war is very touching.I want to see it in person,I have it on video tape. I am very moved by what I saw of it shown. These soldiers sure do have a story to tell, art is the way to get their story told,I now have this on my list next to go see. Scenes like "Going home early"and"dressed to kill" are very strong and so sad to see. It is time to face up to reality of the foolish war that scared and killed so many people. Painting the story of wars may be the best way to stop the fight. In the last days there shall be floods, earthquakes and more. In Nicaragua and Honduras20,000 people or more are killed fromall the floods and mud slides as a result of hurricane Mitch that has destroyed their countries. I pity the people and wish I could see a way I could help them. This is a hard thing like so much is go-ing on in the world today in natural disasters like no one living has ever seen before. I believe it is the end coming to man as he has corrupted the earth, yet most of these people are innocent. To worship any statute is wrong before God,most of these people wor- idols of the church. What a pity they havenot been pointed toward the living God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us speak truth. "Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together"to worship. Daniel Bush NewYork artist impressed me with his gold art and the statement he made about letting the old machine do the design and to throw away books and pictures on things to copy. I have always said that I let a picture dictate to me how it needs to go,CBSSM. One of my paintings is compared to a Thomas Wolfe character. Tom Wolf is not the ThomasWolf of Asheville N.C. writer of novels such as 'Look Homeward Angel' and The dark side of man. The Wolfe house is open to the public although I have not been in it. Ashe-ville has lots to offer to the tourist like the BiltmoreHouse and they do get their share. The home of poet CarlSandburg is in Hen-dersonville near by or actually FlatRock,N.C.,he raised goats and provided a home for them long after his death. I am glad someone besides me like goats,I like sheep also and say kill notthelambs. He could not come home after writing about all the good folks. For lunch on a cool rainy dark day,we had clam chowder soup with corn added to it and garlic toast bread with hot tea. I added a few spanish peanuts on the side and we had a fresh pineapple. To- night we had vegetable soup homemade with beef and hot cornbread, buttermilk and finished with orange slices. I feel very excellent with what I consider is on the road toright, although I am unhappy eating meat especially beef. The soybean substitute is becoming a lot better and may be the real answer to our crave for hamburger. All we are expected to do is to serve the Lord God and obey. James Kenndy has impressed me preaching about the failure of this country tostop the Christiam persecution around the world. I have heard before that Christian Persecution is the worst ever. It has always been bad in Moslemcountries where they kill people that be converted to Christianity. I have a tape of Kennedyspeaking about the power of the SupremeCourt in how all they interpret the cons-titution. The court is a big problem with the blood of 40 million at least unborn children on their hands that were killed in their mothers womb. What an awful death to die and the suffering awful.
